You look great with short hair. I assume this is probably the first time in your life it's been short.

Although I do not have the social pressures of "bad hair" that come in America, I'm prepared for the firestorm when I get back to my village-- women love running their hands through my hair, as the combination of them being African and living with a hot hot sun, they cannot grow long hair.
I LOVE YOUR HAIR. This is how I've always wanted you to get it cut. Now, if only my hair were stick straight and I could achieve the same look. Love you.
Whenever I see the temperature in Mali I remember how much you loved August in Virginia. I hope the shorter hair is as cool as it looks. It is good to see you.

Yes! I have never done the hair this short.
